Bio
Sue Smith-Williams, 74, Joplin, died May 29, 2013 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, following a six week illness. Sue was born Sept. 5, 1938 at SW City, OK and was a lifelong area resident. She was the manager of Montgomery Ward Catalog Store in Neosho and then worked as office manager at Joplin Cement for 17 years and retired from Joplin Concrete in 2005. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Joplin. Sue married Garry Dean Williams on Jan. 1, 1996 at Las Vegas, NV and he survives. She is also survived by two children, Deborah Strahl and husband, Jonn, Springfield, MO and Alan Armstrong, Garfield, AR; three stepchildren, Jason Williams, Joplin; Justin Williams and wife, Connie, Centerton, AR and Marcia Williams, Minot, ND; 6 grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Thressa (Forbes) Loftis and a brother, Bill Loftis. Services will be Monday, June 3, 2013 at 1 pm at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Joplin, Rex Wakefield, minister will officiate. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, Stella and serving as pallbearers will be Caleb Byron, Micheal Armstrong, Justin Williams, Jonn Strahl, Rob Tucker and Christian Byron.
