Obituary Gonzales Inquirer Aug. 18, 1980 Kalisek Rites Alois Kalisek, Sr. died at his home at 112 Morey Street, at 1:48 a.m. Saturday. Services were from the St. James Catholic church this morning, Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Bily, pastor, officiating. A rosary services was held at Seydler-Hill chapel at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Burial was in the St. James Catholic cemetery with Seydler-Hill funeral home in charge of arrangments. Mr. Kalisek was born in Wied, Lavaca county, on SAseptember 4, 1909, the son of Frank and Annie Albrect Kalisek, natives of Czechoslovakia. He married Teresa Rosie Hobizal on January 26, 1932 and was a contractor and carpenter. He was a member of St. James Catholic church, the Knights of Columbus and KJCT Lodge in Shiner. Survivors are his widow; one son Alois A. Kalisek, jr., Gonzales; five grandchildren, Raymond A. Charles W. and Brenda Kalisek, Cathy A. Brister and Andra Pavlicek, all of Gonzales; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Antone of Port Lavaca, Frank of Rosenberg, Joe of Floresville, and Adolph Kalisek of Baytown; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Berger of Shiner and Mrs. Juranek of Corpus Christi. He was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers. Pallbearers were Willie Simper, Robert Janota, David Hajovsky, Eugene Berger, Dennis Berger and Ernest Berger, and members of the Knights of Columbus and the KJT Lodge.
