WWI & MEXICAN REVOLUTION SPECIAL RANGER REGULAR RANGER Rodney Guy Grantham was born July 20, 1873 in Arkansas, to James Perstell Grantham and Lucretia Jane Sirmon. Rodney stood 5ft. 9 1/2in. tall, had blue eyes sandy hair and a red complexion. In 1880, he lived in Bearhouse, Ashley County, Arkansas. He was married to his first wife, Addie Marie Duncan on January 4, 1911, in Garza County, Texas. They had one girl, Cordelia. His second wife was Irene Grantham whom he married in about 1920. He had three step-daughters; Florence Elkins; Kindred Elkins and Frances Elkins. Rodney was a brand inspector for the Cattle Raisers' Association of Texas, in Farwell, Pamer County, Texas. He enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a SPECIAL RANGER on September 21, 1918 thru June 16, 1919. In October 1918, he was classified as a REGULAR RANGER without pay, to avoid the draft. In 1920, he was a general farmer in Kent County Texas. In 1930, he was a stock farmer in Big Lake, Reagan County, Texas. Rodney Guy Grantham died on February 27, 1948, in Tom Green County, Texas.
