Bio

Son of Melvin and Helen (Tuma) Purvis. Graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1974 and attended Central Community College for one year. Entered the U.S. Army and served from June, 1974-June, 1977. Served in the Ready Reserved from 1978 to 1980 and in the Army National Guard from May 1986 until his death. He married Elaine Goc in Grand Island. He worked for Diamond Plastics in both Grand Island and Winnemucca, Nevada, where they were living when he died as the result of a car accident. He was survived by his wife; his mother; two stepsons; two stepdaughters; and two sisters, Debbie Purvis and Cindy Ochoa. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Robert and his grandparents.
