The Grand Island Independent on-line - Sep 22 2015 ORD — Rose Ella Sevenker, 87, of Ord passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at Valley View Senior Village at Ord with her family by her side. A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark Middendorf officiating. Cremation will take place following the service and a private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Ord City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ord Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church or donor’s choice. Rose Ella was born June 24, 1928, on the family farm nine miles east of Burwell to Joseph and Louise (Zurek) Bartos. She attended Midville and McIntyre rural schools and graduated from Burwell High School in 1947. Following graduation, Rose Ella worked in Burwell at the theatre and the social services office. On July 16, 1951, Rose Ella was united in marriage to E. Lyle Sevenker at the Methodist Church in Burwell. To this union five children were born. Lyle and Rose Ella made their home northeast of Ord. Rose Ella was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, Plain Valley Extension Club and was involved in 4-H and taught Bible School. She spent many hours riding her pet horse, Georgie, and especially enjoyed riding in the Burwell Rodeo Parade. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, E. Lyle Sevenker of Ord; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lyle and Loreen of Ord, and Lynn and Kris of Grand Island; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynda and Rick Wilkinson of Omaha and Sue and Mike Blaha of Ord; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Corey Sevenker and Lora Howard, Christopher and Tracy Wilkinson, Craig and Ayleice Wilkinson, Carrie and Mike Bohnenkamp, Justin Sevenker and Jessica Isaac, Adam Sevenker and Brittney Brown, Jon and Elizabeth Blaha and Samantha Blaha; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerald Bartos of Omaha; two sisters, Evelyn Cook of Ord and Sharlene Wozniak of Omaha; and a host of extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Timothy; a brother, LeRoy Bartos; and a sister, Agnes Foster.
