HOWELLS — Helen R. Post Jakubowski, 102, of Howells died Saturday, May 11, 2013. Services were held May 14, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Howells. Burial was in the Union Cemetery in Ashton. Helen was born June 28, 1910, in Ashton to John and Clara (Hansen) Rapp. She attended school in Ashton through the 10th grade. Helen married Charles Post in Loup City in 1930. After Charles death in 1973, Helen married Richard Jakubowski in the St. Francis Parish in Ashton in 1982. Helen worked at the nursing home in Loup City and the Box Factory and Ammunitions Plant in Grand Island. She was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells and Christian Mothers. She enjoyed quilting, playing Bingo, Crocheting, Horse Racing and family dinners. Helen is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Arnold Jakubowski, of Howells; grandchildren, Larry (Pat) Jakubowski, Deb (Elton) Roland, Dick (Cheryl) Jakubowski, Cary (Sue) Jakubowski, Stacy (Mick) Longacre, Jenni (Dr. Jeff) Berney; 15 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, stepdaughter-in-law, Judene Jakubowski of Ashton; stepgrandchildren, Jon (Candy) Jakubowski, Joel (Lana) Jakubowski, Jesse (Joan) Jakubowski, Jamie (Steve) Klinginsmith, and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Charles and Richard; three brothers, two sisters; infant daughter, Arlene and stepson, Jim.
