Husband of Melvina (Van Kirk) Mitchell. Thomas and Melvina were married on April 27, 1889 in Starke County, Indiana. Melvina and Thomas had two children together: Chester and Carrie Mitchell. Thomas was married previously to Lillie Alice (Taylor) Mitchell Heminger on November 17, 1886. He had a son with Lillie, William Harrison Mitchell (1888-1973). Thomas was the son of James Mitchell and Catherine (Young) Mitchell. Thomas died as a result of an accident with a saw.
