---------------------------------- ORD — Police say a 76-year-old woman has died after being hit by a four-wheeler. Jeanette Peters of rural Ericson died Friday after she was struck by a four-wheeler operated by her husband. He was trying to move the vehicle up a ramp when he accelerated instead of braking, causing the four-wheeler to pin his wife against a building. Peters was flown to a Kearney hospital, where she later died. A funeral is planned for Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church in Ord. Published: Lincoln Journal Star 4/27/2013 ===================================== ERICSON — Jeanette Loretta Peters, 76, of rural Ericson died Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Health System in Kearney. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church in Ord. Pastor Kyle Campise will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Peters was born June 18, 1936, at Ord to George and Gertrude (Long) Zabloudil. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Roland of Ericson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jerilyn and Jaguar Tonniges of Ericson and Kayla and Dale Beethe of Ord; and a brother, Francis Zabloudil of Lincoln. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Rory, Austin, Tucker, Stirling and Cooper Tonniges and Savannah, Dawson and Rena Beethe. She was raised on the family farm north of Ord and received her early education at a country school and graduated from Ord High School in 1953. Jeanette continued her education at Kearney State and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After receiving her teaching certificate, she taught at country schools in the Ord area for several years. On June 22, 1958, Jeanette was united in marriage to Roland Peters at Ord. After Mr. Peters was discharged from the military in 1960, the couple settled on the Zabloudil farmstead west of Ericson. At the age of 16, Jeanette began teaching individual music lessons and was instrumental in forming an accordion band. Her passion for music and love for the students led her to a 60-year teaching career. Over the years she taught piano, guitar, steel guitar and accordion lessons. Jeanette was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and Loup Valley Arts Council. She was a very energetic person who loved the outdoors and spending time on the farm. Her special interests were sewing, flower gardens and landscaping, but primarily she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Dr. Robert Brown. Posted in Obituaries on Sunday, April 28, 2013 Grand Island Independent
