LITCHFIELD —Frederick Jens Hansen, 97, of Litchfield died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at his home. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Litchfield Christian Church in Litchfield. The Revs. James DeLoach and Micah Gaunt will officiate. Burial will be in the Litchfield Cemetery. Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hansen was born July 19, 1915, in Boelus, Nebraska, to Morden and Elsie (Dodd-Stine) Hansen. Fred married Berniece Pearl (Linden)Hansen on January 2, 1940, in Kearney, Nebraska. They made their homes in Shelton, Lexington, Cozard, and finally settled on a farm near Litchfield, Nebraska, in 1945. On January 28, 1977, they sold their farm and moved into Litchfield. Berniece passed away on February 19, 1991. Fred later married Dorothy Marie (Mackey) Goodner on August 9, 1992, in Litchfield where they resided. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Dorothy; three sons and daughters-in-law, James F. and Sharon Hansen of Alliance, Earl G. and Carol Hansen of Broken Bow and Jerry J. and Margaret Hansen of Kearney; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty L. and Wesley Mittelstedt of Arlington, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lorene Fought of North Platte and Lora Gonser of Colcord, Okla. He was also preceded in death by his parents, wife; two brothers, five sisters and four grandchildren. Posted in Obituaries on Saturday, April 27, 2013 Grand Island Independent.
