Schneider, 701 Pleasant St., Passed away in Buena Vista, Arrangements later. (Chapel of Memories. ---------------------------- Gazette Telegraph Friday August 1, 1975 page A16:8 L.E. Schneider Rites Held Today Services for Laverne Edward Schneider were held today in the Chapel of Memories Mortuary with the Rev. D.L. Knierim and the Rev. Winfred Brown officiating. Randall Rickey, Smith Payne, Troy Zook, Douglas Kennedy, Carl Boughman and John Paulson served as pallbearers. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Schneider, 701 N. Pleasant St., died Monday at his vacation cabin in St. Elmo. He was employed under Civil Service at Ft. Carson and had lived here since 1941. He was born July 29, 1916 in Van Tassell, Wyo., was in the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in New Guinea, and was married June 26, 1948 in Colorado Springs. He was a Methodist and he belonged to the Zebulon Pike Chapter of Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Schneider is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruth Schneider; a daughter, Carol Lee Baughman, and a son, Eugene Edward Schneider, both of Colorado Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Davonna Campbell, Hemingford Neb., and Mrs. Onalee Fisher of Fort Collins, and a number of nieces and nephews. - HEE ************************************************************ My note St. Elmo is a ghost town, it was a gold mining town.
