Irene Ditman, 93, of Wayne, formerly of Winside, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 at Premier Estates Senior Living Community. Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 15 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Winside. The Rev. Timothy J. Steckling officiated. Irene K. Ditman, daughter of Frederick and Helen (Hoffman) Weible, was born Oct. 3, 1912 at Winside. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Winside. She graduated from Winside High School and was employed in the family business, Weible's Grocery Store. On March 26, 1935 she married Dr. Noran Ditman. The couple lived their entire married life in Winside where they owned and operated the Winside Veterinary Clinic. They retired in 1977. She moved to The Oaks in February of 2000. She was a life-long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Charter member of the Federated Women's Club, was one of the first committee members forming the Winside Museum and a member of the Winside American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bridge clubs and playing cards. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Sherry Ditman of Westcliffe, Colo., Richard and Jackie Ditman of Austin, Texas and Jan Ditman of Omaha; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Norris and Helen Weible of Wayne; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Noran "Doc" in 1998; one son, Robert; three brothers, Frank, Waldron and Don and one sister, Betty Lou. Pallbearers were Charles Weible, Fritz Weible, Dean Weible, Roger Nyffler, Dennis Bowers and Mickey Topp. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Winside.
