BOATING ACCIDENT- page 17, Tuesday, 2 July 1985 CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE, Casper, Wyoming Reservoirs claim drowning victims WHEATLAND (AP) - A Torrington couple drowned in Greyrocks Reservoir. The bodies of Rodney Milligan, 55, and his wife, Louise, 54, were recovered about 10 p.m. Sunday from Greyrocks Reservoir by Wheatland volunteer firemen, after a person reported seeing the boat capsized in the water, Platte County Coroner Harley Prell said Monday.. OBIT- page 14, Wednesday, 3 July 1985, CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE, Casper, Wyoming Rodney J. Milligan, Sr. and Louise B. Milligan TORRINGTON - Services for Rodney J. Milligan Sr., 55, and his wife, Louise B. Milligan, 54, who died in a boating accident on 30 June will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church. Rev. William Webster will officiate with burial in Valley View Cemetery. Mr. Milligan was born 26 August 1929 in Rapid City, South Dakota. His parents died when he was six and he was reared by Sid and Blanche Underwood in Torrington where he was also educated. He served as a SeeBee with the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1950. Mr. Milligan and his wife were married 2 May 1953 at Harrisburg, Nebraska and for several years, he worked in construction in central Wyoming. He returned to Torrington where he worked for Rankin Plumbing and L.E. Poole Plumbing and Heating and in 1958, he was employed by Ray Martindale with Torrington Plumbing and became a partner in 1970. He was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Loyal Order of Moose #664. He had also served as a scoutmaster. Mrs. Milligan was born 22 November 1930, in Mitchell, Nebraska and was the daughter of Carl and Leatha Leathers. She had worked for the Goshen County Nursing Home for five years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Women of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and also had been a Cub Scout den mother. Surviving the couple are their three children, and five grandchildren. Mr. Milligan is also survived by his mother, Blanche Underwood of Orange County, California; a twin brother, Robert of Fort Laramie; and stepbrother and stepsister, Paul and Arlyce Underwood, both of Orange County. Mrs. Milligan is also survived by a brother, Carl Leathers and a sister, Phyllis Lane, both of Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents.
