Sharon Lyell, February 27, 2013 Sharon Nell (Orahood) Lyell, 77, of Martin went to be with the Lord Feb. 21, 2013. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Avenue Chapel of Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie. Visitation will be Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Lyell was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Chickasha, Okla., daughter of the late Aldelbert Wayne Orahood and the late Dorothy Leone (Wynkoop) Orahood Hawkins. She married Charlie Dotson Lyell Dec. 27, 1958. He preceded her in death. She retired from the Social Security Administration Dec. 3, 1998. A member of Mt. Pelia Baptist Church, she was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Lyell enjoyed working on genealogy and needlepoint, playing the piano, going to church and singing in the choir, painting and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sheridan Dawn and David Owen of McKenzie; her son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Sharron Lyell of Rives; two grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Lyell and Brad Nicholas Lyell, both of Rives; her brother, Harry Orahood of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon Leigh Lyell.
