Rachel Hoffmann, 95, Medina, ND died Tuesday April 9, 2013 at the Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown, ND. Rachel Hins was born June 7, 1917 on the family farm North of Medina, ND, the daughter of Gottlieb Hins and Fredrika (Sass) Hins. They lived 5 miles north of Medina, ND. She received her elementary education at Gellford School District #3. She and Henry G. Hoffmann were married November 26, 1937 at Medina, ND. They made their home east of Medina on the farm until their retirement in 1978 when they moved into Medina. After the death of her husband in December of 1997, Rachel continued to reside in Medina. She entered the Eventide at Hi-Acres in October of 2012. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Medina, ND. She is survived by1 sister, Clara Brastrup, Medina, ND and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, Richard Lee; 2 brothers, Gottlieb, Gustaf, killed in WWII, and 5 sisters, Emelia, Mary, Lea, Helen and Esther. Funeral Service - 1:00 PM Saturday April 13, 2013 at the Zion United Church of Christ in Medina, ND with Rev. Martin Nussbaum, officiating. Interment - Medina Cemetery in Medina, ND. Visitation: 9 am – 7 pm Friday April 12, 2013 at the Haut Funeral Homes in Jamestown, ND.
