Bio

Donald E. Sheppard, 91, of Blooming Grove, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Veteran's Affairs Hospital in Temple. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2013, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Blooming Grove with Bro. Grady Cashion officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Donald Everett was born in Blooming Grove, Texas, to the late Charlie Sheppard and Emma Lowe Sheppard. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blooming Grove. Donald loved church and working with his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilene Farmer Sheppard in 1969; second wife, Frances Starek Sheppard; and sisters, Meredith McCune and Barbara Rickerson. Survivors include his daughter, Kyra Cariker and husband, Kenneth, of Henderson; son, Gary Don Sheppard, of Crosby; step-daughter, Terri Watson and husband, Chris, of Greenville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
