Added from a data base at the South Dakota State Historical Society: www.history.sd.gov. =============================== Mrs. John Carda died at her home in Tabor, SD last Friday morning at 6:00 o'clock due to cancer. Mary (Pesicka) Carda was born in Mezna, near Tabor, Bohemia, 29 June 1867 and came to this country with her parents in 1869 to Yankton County. On Feb 24, 1884 she was united in marriage to John Carda and they made their home on his farm six miles northeast of Tyndall where they resided until five years ago when they retired and moved into Tabor. She was 60 years and eight months and16 days of age. She is survived by her husband and children: Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Pavel, Mrs. Joseph (Clara) Vlasak, Mrs. James (Annie) Schuch, Stanley, Frank, Henry, Miss Albina, and the adopted daughter , Ella Dufek, both at home. Also are her brothers: Anton Pesicka of Bristow, Neb., James Pesicka of Lake Andes, S. D., and one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Annie) Carda of Geddes, SD.
