Bio
Willard Docie Clayton was born August 24, 1882 in Lewis County, Tennessee to Willis Alonzo "Lonzo" Clayton and Francis Abigale Hensley. He married Mary Williams December 16, 1903 in Lewis County, Tennessee. As a couple they moved to Oklahoma and then to Texas. On their life journey they became parents of seven daughters. Myrtle May Clayton (Williams), Eula Francis Clayton (Kirby), Zenovia (Nova) Clayton (Butler), Kate Inez Clayton ( Stricklin), Ruby Ellen Clayton, Bessie Faye Clayton (Bacon, Cox) and Jimmie Clayton (Taylor). To me he was Grandpa Clayton, to his girls he was Papa. He was a man of the earth, a farmer by trade. He loved to raise chickens and he loved his hunting hounds. He was kind to those who needed help. After his sister's death, he took and cared for his nephew Howard Walden all of his life. He also was a great influence and caretaker of my father, his grandson. Contributor: Blake R.Cox (48426304)
