Bio

Simon Bosn, 68, a retired section foreman for the Chicago & North Western railroad, died about 1:45 pm, on Wednesday, October 12, 1967, in St. Anthony's Hospital here. He had been ill several years and had been hospitalized on several occasions in Lincoln and at O'Neill. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 15, from St. Patrick's Catholic church with Very Rev. Timothy O'Sullivan, church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The remains will lie in state at Biglin's chapel from 2 p.m., Friday until the funeral hour. There will be a rosary Friday evening at 8 o'clock. Pallbearers chosen are Dorminic Bohn, Loren Nelson, Ira H. Moss, James Murphy, George Collins and Lew White. The late Mr. Bosn was born on December 4, 1886, in Croatia (now a state of Czechoslovakia). His parents were Ivan and Eva Bosn. On November 6, 1917, he was married to Mary Ratkovec at Brainard. They became the parents of 10 children. The Bosn family came toO'Neill from Brainard in 1941. Mr. Bosn retired as section chief here in 1953 due to his ill health. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church, Knights of Columbus, C&NW Old Timers' Club, and had been made an "Admiral" in the Nebraska "Navy" by Gov. Val Peterson. Survivors include: Widow,Mary; sons — Ray, George, Al and Donald, all of O'Neill; daughters — Mrs. Frank (Margaret) Cook of Grand Island; Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Blomstrom of Winner, S.D.; Mrs. James (Marian) Harty of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. John (Rosaline) Gallagher of Fredricksburg, VA.; Miss Jeanne of Denver, Colo., and Miss Theresa, of O'Neill, NE.
