Bio

Bertha Fritz, 93, of Lubbock, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 26, 2010, at her home. She was born on March 7, 1916 in Williamson County, near Taylor, Texas, to Leon and Louise Melcher. Bertha moved to Lubbock County in 1924. She married William Fritz in 1936. Bertha was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Edgar and Leopold Melcher. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 1, 2010 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church original chapel, with Rev. Michael Melcher officiating. Interment will follow at City of Slaton Cemetery. Rosary will be recited this evening at 7 p.m. Sunday at Sanders Memorial Chapel.
