Clarence C. "Bud" Phillipsen 1936 - 2013 VETERAN Clarence C. "Bud" Phillipsen passed away with his family by his side, on March 8, 2013, at University of Utah Hospital, after an eighteen year battle with Leukemia. He was born on March 11, 1936, in Nephi, Utah, to Deon and Frank Phillipsen. Bud spent 10 years in the military which included two tours to Germany. The second of which was in the CIA, where he had the highest clearance of this country and he met the love of his life, Hildegard Phillipsen. He owned and operated Nephi Auto Wrecking and Phillipsen Trucking Equipment where he was known as "Diesel smoke" and he loved driving the truck and being his own boss. His hobbies included fishing, driving truck, and bird hunting, but most of all he enjoyed his garden, from which he would share the fruits with everyone. He was known for telling stories and helping others through thick and thin. Every Sunday you could find him at the church, which he loved very much. Bud was the most proud of his family, particularly his grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom he tried to spend the most of his time with. He had a unique quality of making every single one of his family members and friends know that they held a special place in his life and heart. He is survived by his wife, Hildegard; children, John Phillipsen, Rodney (Margarita) Phillipsen, Bridget (Kenny) Carter, and Tiffany (Corey) Carter; sisters, Doris (Von) Newton, and Elaine Oaks; Sister-in-law, Jane Whiting; 19 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren Preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert; grandson, Anthony; siblings, Ralph, Louise Deon, Ross, and June. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 in the Nephi North Stake Center, 1100 North 400 East. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North and at the church one hour prior to the services.
