Albert J. Cooper; CO K 2nd Texas Cavalry Pvt. Albert J. Cooper has only two records. The first, an undated Prisoner of War Card only indicates that he is a resident of Cherokee County. The second record is a Prisoner of War parole card dated June 14, 1865. Albert J. Cooper and wife Margaret E. Cooper are buried in the City of Roby Cemetery. Albert J. Cooper 7-8-1846 ~ 11-9-1918 Margaret Cooper 5-2-1851 ~ 6-9-1936 In a grave next to Margaret is an apparent son. Robert Cooper 5-11-1879 ~ 12-3-1915 The following information was furnished by: Mary McClain Albert James Cooper; son of Paris Cooper and his mother was Elizabeth Jane Cooper, born in Maury County, Tennessee. Married 18 Apr 1869 on a Sunday in Lewis Co., Tn., to Margaret Euphne Pollock, born 2 May 1851 - Lewis Co., Tn. He also served as a Private in Company H (Biffle's) 9th Cavalry of Tennessee, serving with his brother, Jonathan M. Cooper. He applied for a pension in 1912 stating he was 66 years old and rsided at Roby, Fisher Co., Texas. He help organize the first draft board in Fisher County. He is listed on the 1870 - 1880 census of Lewis County, Tn, living next door to his father, Paris Cooper. He and Margaret had (twelve) children: Alexander Hamilton, Paris F., Elisha Pollock, Robert Melville, Sarah Jane, Grover Blain, John James, Duncan Brown, Jane, Charles Clark, Boyd, and Dinwiddie Cooper.
