Bio
Ruth Stevenson, 79, of Sycamore, Ill., died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center in DeKalb. Born Sept. 8, 1928, in DeKalb, she was the daughter of Edward and Nora (Sams) Troutman. She married Robert Minnihan and later married Harold "Steve" Stevenson. She was employed by Seymour of Sycamore Inc. for many years. She was a member of Community Church of Christ in DeKalb and TOPS. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, and being with friends. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. She is survived by two sons, Mark Stevenson of DeKalb and John "Jack" (Pat) Minnihan of Spokane, Wash.; five grandchildren, Craig and Jason Minnihan of Spokane and Matt, Brad and Brent Stevenson of Baltimore, Md.; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Angil Minnihan; two brothers, Elmer Troutman of Sycamore and Larry (Lola) Troutman of DeKalb; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Troutman of Sterling, Colo., and Bess Troutman of Rochelle; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; three sisters, Edith Quirin, Myrl Troutman and Mildred Troutman; and seven brothers, Hubert, Clarence, John, Robert, Donald, Richard and David Troutman. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home, with Roger Hintzsche officiating. Interment will be at Mound Rest Cemetery in Cortland. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, and from noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
