Josephine Julie Perkins, age 87, of Clovis, NM, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis. She was born on June 2, 1925, in Granger, TX to the home of Joe B. and Annie Mary (Tomecek) Chasak. Josephine married Wayne Perkins on August 29, 1946, in Taylor, TX. Josephine was a Clovis resident since 1948, moving from Truth or Consequences, NM. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clovis, NM. She loved to baby-sit, crochet, and listen to music and take care of her grandchildren. She is survived by one son: Mike Perkins of Clovis, NM and one daughter: Barbara O'Ree of Clovis, NM; three grand children: Jerry Byrd, Michah Perkins and Kayla Perkins and two great grandchildren: Emily Byrd and Kendal Byrd. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; two brothers: Ed and Tommy Chasak and three sisters: Sybil Swenson, Ann Philpott and Mary Manda. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clovis, NM with Father Carlos Chavez officiating. Inurnment will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, NM. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society , PO Box 1856, Clovis, NM 88101.
