WEST BEND — Jean Wagner, 73, of West Bend died Dec. 25 at her home. Services were held Monday, Dec. 29, at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church at West Bend followed by interment at the West Bend Cemetery. Mary Jean (Lundgren), the daughter of Rolfe and Frances (Stewart) Lundgren, was born July 30,1930 at St. Paul, Minn. Jean was raised and educated in the Graettinger area, first attending country school, then graduating from Graettinger High School in 1948. She worked as a dental assistant to Dr. Shirley in Graettinger before her marriage to Eugene Wagner on June 16, 1954. After their marriage, the couple lived and farmed west of West Bend for the majority of their married lives. Jean was a homemaker and also a sales representative for Stanley Home Products. The couple moved to West Bend in 2000. Jean was a member of St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, the ladies aid of the church, the literary club of Pocahontas and the American Legion Auxiliary. Jean's survivors include her husband, Eugene; and children Roger of Emmetsburg, Kirk of West Bend. Kelly Crotty of Omaha, Neb., Rhonda Wagner of St. Paul, Minn., Beth Grimm of Algona, Lee Ann Grimm of West Bend, 12 grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Johnson of Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Randy and a brother Joseph. Page 9 of Algona Upper Des Moines, published in Algona, Iowa on Thursday, January 1st, 2004.
