Bio

Francis Isabella Ray was born to her mother, Mary Ann Frazier Ray, and her first husband, Nathaniel Ray. Francis was about five when her father died. Her mother later married Lewallen or Lewellyn Cleveland, who had already been married four times, with seven children altogether. On January 31st, 1872, Frances Ray married the oldest of her "half-brothers", William Ludwig "Billy" Cleveland. Technically, they were not half-siblings as her parents and his parents were not married to each other at the time either was born. Francis and Billy had ten children before she died on the last day of March, 1900.
