Alice Seaman Bates Funeral services for Alice Seaman Bates, 75, were held March 5 at 11 a. m. at the Palacios Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bernard Ritchea officiating. Interment followed at Palacios Cemetery. Mrs. Bates was born April 2, 1912 in Pecan, Mississippi, the daughter of Henry Elbert and Dora Clark Seaman. She died March 3, 1988 at Wagner General Hospital. Affiliated with the First United Methodist Church, she had been a resident of Palacios since 1930. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Bates Johnson of Palacios; one son, Ted Bates, Jr. of Palacios; sisters, Mrs. Eugene Lyons, Mrs. Saul Hebert and Mrs. Earl Laley of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama; brothers, Levert Seaman and Hubbard Seaman of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama; brother-in-law, Robert Bates of Palacios; and grandchildren, Allison Ann Bates, Ronnie Lowell Johnson, Mrs. Karen Tilton, and Lynn and Karen Riva. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted. R. Bates, Sr. Palacios Beacon , March 9, 1988
