FUNERAL SERVICES FOR OSCAR WHITE HELD MON. Funeral services for Oscar Russell White, 78, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Baptist Church, conducted by pastor, Rev. John Rasberry, Jr., assisted by Rev. Morris Bryant of Dallas. Pallbearers were Henry D. Hynds, J.G. Kitching, Sam Cromer, Golden Gentry, Robt. E.B. Fielder, and Robt. H. Hynds. Internment was in the City Cemetery under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home. Mr. White passed away at his home here Saturday night at 10:30, after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Van Alstyne 55 years. He was a native of Rome, Georgia, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe White. He was united in marriage with Miss Willie Joe Shaw in 1910. He had been a member of Elmont Baptist Church since 1903.
