Bio

PERRYTON - George Dewey SHINN, 86, of Odessa, died May 6, 1992. Graveside services were held on Saturday, May 9, at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lubbock, with Rev. Bill Couch, pastor of Lakeridge United Methodist Church, officiating. He was born in Erick, Oklahoma, and had lived in Lubbock and Perryton before moving to Odessa two years ago. He married Pauline RANKIN in 1928. She died in 1983. He is survived by three daughters, Jorene HOPKINS of Odessa, Glenna WYLIE of Lubbock and Wanda WORTHINGTON of Chesterfield, Missouri; two sons, Wayne SHINN of Odessa and Ronald "Rusty" SHINN of Lubbock; one sister, Alta HAAS of California; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Texas Tech Medical School. (Published in The Perryton Herald (TX), May 14, 1992.)
