Albert C. Graham, brother of Mrs. John P. Hausam of this city, died very suddenly Monday at Port Lavaca, Texas. Mr. Graham's home was in Quero, Texas. He was a traveling salesman for the Peter Shoe Company of St. Louis. Mr. Graham was a son of the late Andrew J. and Elizabeth Graham, and was born and reared in Lexington. He was 62 years of age. Besides his sister, Mrs. John P. Hausam, he is survived by his wife and two married daughters. Burial was in Cuero, Texas. Published by the Lexington Intelligencer, August 31, 1917, Lexington, MO. ********************************************************** Death came suddenly upon Albert Clifton Graham, a veteran traveling salesman of this city, yesterday afternoon at about 3:30 o'clock, as he was conversing with friends, in the city of Port Lavaca, where he was making one of his regular business trips. A laughing remark was followed by a sudden pain, a quick faintness, and within two minutes, as he sank gently down, supported by the arm of W.B. Grizzard of this city, he breathed his last. Mr. Graham was born in Lexington, Mo., on March 29, 1857, was therefore, at the time of his death, 60 years, 5 months and 8 days old. He came to Texas when a young man and was married to Miss Marie Border, a stepdaughter of the late Governor O.M. Roberts, and she with two daughters, Mesdames Carl A. Gramann and L.B. McGuffin, survives him. He had been a resident of this state for about 35 years and during nearly all of this time, he was a traveling salesman for the International Peters Shoe Co. He had a wide acquaintance over the state, who found him a man of high ideals, strong convictions, careful of his good name, and determined to make no representation that he could not fully substantiate. He was knightly in his bearing, kindly and courteous to all. Four about fifteen years Mr. Graham resided at Austin, where perhaps he is better known than at any other Texas city. About five years ago, he was given a territory in South Texas, and as his daughter, Mrs. Gramann, then resided here, he decided to locate in Cuero, where he has since lived, and where none have known him but to love him, and none speak of him but to praise. The remains were brought to Cuero on the morning train from Port Lavaca, and from the depot were taken to the resident of C.A. Gramann of Gonzales street, from where the funeral will take place this afternoon at 5 o'clock. Rev. U.B. Bowden, formerly Episcopal rector here, will have charge of the services at the house and at the cemetery the Knights of Pythias will be in charge and will use their beautiful ritualistic ceremonies. Mr. Graham was a long time member of the Episcopal church and Knights of Pythias lodge, and was always loyal to both. Having known him a number of years, the Record shared the loss of the community in his passing and joins his wide circle of friends in an expression of sympathy for those near and dear to him, who are sorely bereaved.--Cuero Record.
