Bio
"Together Again" Don W. Fenton, 90, of Pleasant Grove, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 23, 2012. Don was born September 30, 1921 in Pleasant Grove to Thomas Nelson and Ethel Walker Fenton. He married June Berry on December 6, 1942 in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. After 67 years of marriage, the light of his life, June, passed away in 2009. Don grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. He attended Weber State for a year. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and was stationed in England. Upon his return from the war, Don and June made their home in Pleasant Grove. Don worked at the Pleasant Grove Post Office for nearly 20 years. He later worked at Tooele Army Depot until his retirement. Don was a devoted member of the Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department for 43 years. He served during many of those years as the Secretary for the Department and received commendations from the State of Utah for his excellence in record keeping. Don is survived by his three children: Sherrie Hunter, Pleasant Grove; Debra (Doug) Danielson, West Jordan; Don B. (Joi Lynn) Fenton, Lehi; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and two great great grandsons. He was preceded in death by two grandsons: Billy Thomson and Trey Martin and grandson-in-law, Troy Whitney. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Pleasant Grove Ward Chapel, 275 East 500 South, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery where Don will receive a Fireman Tribute.
