Services for Emily Jane (Forrest) Stanbery, 87, will be held at Salem Baptist Church in Huntington, with Bro. Brian Williams and Bro. Greg Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in the Treadwell Cemetery in Huntington. Mrs. Stanbery was born January 20, 1926 in Huntington, the daughter of the late Travis and Novie Forrest. She went to be with her Lord and savior on Thursday, February 14, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Sharon Stanbery, Ronnie and Linda Stanbery; and John and Holly Stanbery; daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Travis Fuller, Patsy Jackson, and Beverly and Tim Johnson. Mrs. Stanbery was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving Emily are her sisters, Nona Cartwright and Marciel Waltman; sister and brother-in-law, Lou and Doug Blankenship; brother and sister-in-law, Jessie and Betty Forrest; brother-in-law and wife, Bobby and Joyce Stanbery; sister-in-law and her husband, Manell and Ross McClain; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives. In addition to her parents ( obit is incomplete and chopped off here ).... Emily's most important possessions were her family and her strong faith in God. She loved to cook and sew for them and many friends and acquaintances. She was also an avid "42" player and was pretty good at it. She spent her life encouraging family and friends with her favorite phrase "Keep looking up", in reference to the love and faith she had for Christ. She was fondly known as "Mamaw Em". Emily was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church for many years and was loved by all who knew her. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dwayne Fuller, Josh Stanbery, Joseph Johnson, Chris Stanbery, Jake Stanbery and great-grandson, Aaron Anderson.
