Richard J. Marek, 81, of Yorktown, died Monday, September 16, 2002. He was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Granger, to the late Charles and Ludmila Muzny Marek. He was a Parts manager for John Deere and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He served during World War II and in Korea and was a member of Knights of Columbus. Survivors: wife, Florence Brysch Marek; daughter, Mary Baker of Fort Worth; sons, Rick Marek of Greenville; sisters, Martha Malek of Robstown, Ann Lalla of Taylor and Bernadette Tiana of Massachusetts; brothers, Adolph Marek of Corpus Christi; Bill Marek of Robstown and Raymond Marek of Texarkana; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: parents; sisters, Agnes Marek, Lillian Ermis and Anastaisa Brunner; and brother, Charlie Marek. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery.
