Cairo Record, published in Cairo, Nebraska Friday, 18 August 1944, page 2 Mrs. Ida Emmons, mother of Mrs. W. A. Crabtree, died early Monday morning in a Grand Island hospital. Mrs. Emmons was born Dec. 6, 1870, to Henry and Dora Tolles at Evansville, Wis. When a baby she came with her parents to Nebraska. She married Syrinus Emmons on Febr. 24, 1889 at St. Paul, Nebraska. They spent their married life in this south central part of the state, moving to Grand Island in 1937. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1939. Survivors are her husband, three sons, Bert of Elm Creek, Lowell of North Platte and Fred of Ogden, Utah; one daughter, Mrs. Goldie Crabtree of Grand Island; four brothers, two sisters, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held this morning (Thursday) at ten o'clock in the Livingston-Sondermann funeral home, Rev. Leslie Sweetland, officiating. Burial was in the Grand Island cemetery.
