Bio
The sad news was brought to our city [Shambaugh] Wednesday of last week of the death of Amos Journey, who died at his home near Bedford, that morning at 3 o'clock, after an illness of twenty-one days of typhoid fever. Amos was the son of Mr and Mrs William Journey and was born and reared near Shambaugh. In August, 1882, he was united in marriage to Miss Lizzie Woods of this place. To their union eleven children have been born. Two of them preceded him to the better world, he leaving to mourn their loss a wife and nine children. The funeral services were held from the Menonite church at this place, Friday, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev Mr Pontius, assisted by Reverends Cox and Cabbage. Mr Journey was born Oct 18, 1862, and was aged 37 years 2 months and 2 days. The interment took place at the Davis cemetery. CLARINDA JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Dec 29, 1899
