The Wellington Leader December 18, 2008 William "Bill" Hajek passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008 in Wichita Falls. The Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. John Swistovich, officiating. The Rite of Committal was in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Mr. Hajek was born January 26, 1930 in Wellington, Texas to Frank and Lillian (Kolar) Hajek. He graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1948 and worked at the Ritz Theatre as a youth. He and Sidney Gulley were married in 1953. Bill served in the United States National Guard for 10 years. He was employed at Lone Star Gas for over 30 years. Bill was a member of the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, Jaycees, and the BPOE 1105. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and was active with the Boy Scouts, Interfaith Ministries, and Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Hajek was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a grandson, Scott Cheshier. Survivors include his daughter, Theresa Cheshier and husband Larry of Vernon, Texas; two sons, Curtis Hajek and wife Corkey of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Ed Hajek and wife Jerri of Hurst, Texas; eight grandchildren, Kevin Cheshier, Justin, Joshua, Teya, Lacy, Cody, Cord and Casie Hajek; and one great grandchild, Dominik Hajek. A Christian Wake was held Friday evening at the funeral home.
