Salt Lake Tribune, The ( UT ) - December 31, 2003 Deceased Name: Janice Neilson 1922 ~ 2003 PAGE, AZ- Janice Louzella Scott Neilson, age 81, died Saturday, December 27, 2003 in Cottonwood, Arizona. Born November 5, 1922 in Murray, Utah to Violet Eudora Luck and Leo McCloy Scott . Married Joseph Keith "Buzz" Neilson, her high school sweetheart, on Dec. 31, 1940 in Holladay, Utah, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Oct. 14, 2002. Jan was very devoted to her family; her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. She enjoyed cooking and caring for them. She was an active member of the LDS Church, and served in many leadership and teaching positions. She was involved in ceramics for over 40 years, during which time she owned her own shop and taught in Salt Lake City and Page. She had also been part of the "Snazzy Six" singing group at Granite High School, and they stayed friends over the years. Jan is survived by children Charlene Wheeler of Holladay, UT ; Ronald K. Neilson of Page, AZ; Terry K. (Debra) Neilson of Sandy, UT ; Joseph C. Neilson of Las Vegas, NV; Christine (Val) Olsen of Park City, UT ; and Scott M. (Michelle) Neilson of Chandler, AZ; sister Melba Dean of Tucson, AZ; 26 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, brother Leon Scott , and sisters Madeline Lee and Mildred Jacobson. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2, 2004 at 11 a.m. the Page Arizona LDS Stake Center, with viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 5, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Holladay Memorial Park, 4800 Memory Lane, in Salt Lake City. Services arranged by Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab, Utah.
