Parents of Charles A. Bruner, Glen E, Bruner, Robert L. Bruner Doris died Feb.1, 2013 in the Valley Center Nursing Home at Taylorville, North Carolina. She was born Nov 12,1927 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Floyd Elder and Madge Drake Elder. She grew up during the Dust Bowl days on the family farm seven miles west of Putnam and Attended Putnam Schools, graduating in 1945. She would soon move to Sentinel, where she trained and worked as a nurse. She met and soon married Robert Leslie Bruner on Dec 28, 1950. The young couple leased land near Burns Flat, and farmed from 1950 until 1957,when they moved to Wichita, Kansas. They moved to work in the aviation industry. However, that did not work out so her husband ended up in the milling industry as a machinist. In December of 1960 he found work in the Dallas, Texas area. Doris was very active with her sons while they were growing up. She supported them in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, acting as Den mother. Her husband, Robert Bruner preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by her sons Charles, Glen and Robert and sister Dolores Elder of Arizona and John Lee Elder of Arapaho, Oklahoma. She will be buried at Prairie Bell Cemetery in Putnam.
