Services for Cynthia Ann Stinson, 61, of Flint will be on Saturday, July 21, at 2 p.m. at Lanes Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Gage officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Tyler under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Stinson passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012. She was born July 19, 1950, in Commerce to Roy Lee and Ann Stephens Green. Cynthia loved to travel, and did so extensively. She also loved shopping, movies and her Sunday school class. Cynthia was a gourmet cook and avid reader. She had a genuine love for children and had previously taught school in Omaha, Neb., and pre-school in Whitehouse. Cynthia was very devoted to her family and her church, Lanes Chapel United Methodist, where she was a member. Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Roy Lee Green; J.W. Stephens and wife Bertha, and Roy and wife Lou Willie Green. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Merritt Stinson; children, Jess Stinson, Alyssa Stinson, Lila Stinson; parents, Ann and Ed Wilbanks; brother, Roy L. Green Jr.; and Bessie Louise Dick, Robert and Kim Wilbanks, Pam and Mike Gardner and Irene Zimmerman. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
