Frieda Anna Alvina (Sommerfeld) BushFrieda Anna Alvina (Sommerfeld) Bush, was born November 12, 1918, to parents Carl Daniel Sommerfeld and Ida Engeline Buss, at Blue Hill, Nebraska. Frieda was baptized December 15, 1918, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Hill. She was confirmed on May 22, 1932 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill. Her confirmation verse was: Isaiah 54:10, “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” Frieda died on Monday, June 14, 2004 at Heritage of Wauneta.Frieda married Arthur R. Bush August 30, 1946, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings. They moved to the AJ Irvine ranch, north of Hamlet, Nebraska, May 1, 1949 and retired to Palisade March 1991. Frieda was a member of the Palisade Trinity Lutheran Church and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.Frieda is survived by her husband, Arthur Bush of Wauneta; three daughters, Laurel Adaire Bush of Helsinki, Finland, Lona and husband, Robert Farrell of Gray, Maine, and Barbara and husband, George Cooksley, of Anselmo; two grandchildren, Christopher Farrell and Sara Cooksley; one brother, Paul Sommerfeld and wife, Leone; sister-in-law, Pauline and husband, Arlie Bodeman; and brother-in-law, Richard Bush and wife, Louise.Frieda was a kind and loving wife and mother. She lived her Christian faith through her daily deeds and actions.Visitation will be Wednesday 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 17, 10:00 a.m. (Mountain Time) at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wauneta. Pastor Greg Stuckwisch will be officiating. Burial will be in the Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Hamlet.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to KNGN Radio, McCook, NE or the Lutheran Hour, St. Louis, MO.Friends may sign her book at the funeral home or go on-line to extend condolences at www.carpenterbreland.comCarpenter Breland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
