Asa Squires son of John Squires and Mary Fortney, married 24 October 1854 in Barbour Co., VA (WV), USA, to Arah Jane Pitzer daughter of Price Pitzer and Frances "Fanny" Poling. Arah and Asa had eleven children: Sarah Helen , Samuel D. P., John R., Price McPrince, Drucilla Bell, Joel A . Squires, Frances Laura , James William, George W., Henry W., and Michael Coleman Squires.
