Joseph L Sullivan a resident of Bokchito, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the age of 71 years 9 months and 27 days. He was born in Bokchito, Oklahoma on Sunday, March 23, 1941 to Burley and Eltha (Baber) Sullivan. Joe married Donella Lynn in Bokchito, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 23, 1960. Joe loved to build things so he chose to be a carpenter by trade. He was a people person and enjoyed joining his friends for a meal or a cup of coffee at Frank's Cafe. Joe liked to be outside whenever he could hunting, fishing and camping. He also liked to play dominoes, work puzzles, read and go to Choctaw. Joe loved his family and enjoyed his life. Mr. Sullivan is survived by his wife, Donella of the home; daughters, Donna Joe Dennis and husband Mark of Bedford, Texas, Toni Hemphill and husband Roger of Hartshorne, Oklahoma and Kris Wood of McAlester, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jennifer Dennis of Midlothian, Texas, Kristin Ralston and husband David of McAlester, Oklahoma, Kyla Adams of McAlester, Oklahoma, Barry Skipper of Clayton, Oklahoma, Dalton Wood of McAlester, Oklahoma and Jett Wood of McAlester, Oklahoma; great-granddaugthers, Kynzlee Hall of McAlester, Oklahoma and Audrina Wood of McAlester, Oklahoma; brothers, Charles, Howard and John Sullivan; sister, Barbara Ann Fricke of Sherman, Texas; special cousin, James Rich of Bokchito, Oklahoma. Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by his parents, Burley and Eltha Sullivan; son, Barry Neal Sullivan; brothers, Bill Dee and Robert Sullivan. A Funeral Service in Mr. Sullivan's honor will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Wayne Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Dennis, Roger Hemphill, Barry Skipper, Dalton Wood, Jett Wood and David L. Ralston.
