The Wellington Leader June 7, 1928 John Waller, 50, well known citizen of Collingsworth county, died at his home in the Aberdeen community shortly after 12:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, approximately 30 minutes after he had been kicked in the stomach by a mule. The mule had a sore on its chest, and Mr. Waller was attempting to doctor the wound. The mule turned suddenly and kicked him over the stomach, knocking him unconscious. He died within a few minutes without over regaining consciousness. Mr. Waller had lived near Aberdeen for the past nine years and had resided in Wellington for five years prior to moving to Aberdeen during which time he had worked here as a carpenter. He was well known to many people over the county who are shocked to learn of his sudden death. He is survived by his wife and six children, the youngest of whom is only three days old.
