Judy was the daughter of Charlie Leon & Dollie Jane Willeford. She died after a short illness. Following information furnished by: Thomas L. Harman (#46867870) The Gilmer Mirror Gilmer, Texas, Thursday, June 4, 1953 p1 col 3 Judy Willeford Dies in Dallas Judy Carolyn Willeford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Willeford of New Diana, died at 7:30 a.m. Wedneday in the Texas Childrens Hospital in Dallas. She would have been 10 Sunday. Judy had been in the hospital three weeks and ill about seven weeks. Funeral arrangements will be made by Croley Funeral Home. Also surviving are two sisters, Kay and Shirley, and her grandparents, Mrs. Charlie Willeford and Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Martin. The Gilmer Mirror Gilmer, Texas, Thursday, June 11, 1953 p1 col 6 Funeral Services Held June 4 For Judy Willeford Funeral services for Judy Carolyn Willeford were held Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock at New Diana Baptist Church. Judy was born in Gilmer June 7, 1943, and she died June 3 at the Texas Children's Hospital in Dallas. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Willeford of New Diana. Also surviving are two sisters, Kay and Shirley Willeford. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Martin and Mrs. C. C. Willeford, all of New Diana. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Willeford of New Diana and Mrs. L. O. Shockey of Gilmer. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.P. Skaggs of New Diana Baptist Church and Rev. Nolan Boughton of Skyline Heights Baptist Church in Dallas. "Sweet Hour of Prayer" was sung by three of her little friends, Carolyn O'Neal Jones, Pat Rodgers and Linda Skaggs. "What a Friend," "Never Alone" and "Does Jesus Care?" were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Harve Helms, R.D. Helms and Mrs. Harve Jones. Pallbearers were her uncles, Pete Cargil, James Willeford and Ben and Olen Martin. Burial was held in the Graceton Cemetery under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Those from Dallas attending the funeral were Mrs. Paul Harrison, her nurse; Mr. Harrelson, Mrs. Dessie Woods, Rev. and Mrs. Nolan Broughton, and Diann and Belinda Broughton.
