Harrell Griesenbeck, 73, was taken from this life on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. until service time, Saturday, January 19, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013, in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. Harrell was born in Bastrop, Texas, to the late Henry and Roberta (Menefee) Griesenbeck. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School. On October 3, 1964 he married Pat Zabojnik and they made their home in Dallas and then in Ennis. Harrell served his country proudly in the United States Army Air National Guard. He started his career selling insurance for United Fidelity Insurance Company and later for Woodmen of the World. Harrell was most widely known as an inventor. He was most proud of his accomplishment of inventing and patenting the children's bed tent which is sold around the world. He loved to travel to new and unusual destinations such as China, Panama Canal, and Europe. He loved to snow ski and many other outdoor hobbies. He recently enjoyed volunteering for the "off your rocker" reading program for elementary school children. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pat Griesenbeck; and his brothers, Larry Griesenbeck and Jerry Griesenceck. He is survived by his daughter, Sherri Michele Barrett and her husband, Paul, of Dallas; granddaughter, Anniston Barrett; sister, Beverly Worthington, of Waxahachie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
