Bio
Daughter of Frank & Irene (Grant) Gunderson. She grew up in Bellwood and graduated from Bellwood High School in 1942. She worked as a waitress for many years at various locations including Billies Cafe, Kuhn Cafe, Cartas and Tooley Drug Store. Katherine was married to Charles Helm in 1942. Charles was killed in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. She married Henry "Buzz" Shemek in 1948. Buzz died in 1967. In 1971 Katherine married Valerian Paczosa in Fullerton, Nebraska. They lived in Duncan until 1994 when they moved into Columbus. She was a member of St. Anthony Church and past member of St. Stanislaus in Duncan. She was an avid Husker Football fan and enjoyed horse racing. She is survived by: Husband Valerian Paczosa of Columbus, NE Daughter Rana (Rodney) Favors of Columbus, NE Daughter Paula Beckman of Columbus, NE Sister Lorraine Napier of Arizona Sister Frances Brakhage of Lincoln, NE Sister Betty (Maurice) Sylvester of Bellwood, NE 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 expected great grandchild She was preceded in death by: Husbands Henry Shemek & Charles Helm Father Frank Gunderson Mother Irene Gunderson Daughter Paulette Shemek Daughter Linda Bures Sister Lucille Daly Brother Bud Gunderson Brother Donnie Gunderson
