Lillian Harris Bilton was born Feb 16, 1914 in Indian Gap Texas. She was the daughter of William Virgil Harris and Susan Evans Harris. She passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the age of 98 years and 11 months, almost 99 years of age. Can you even imagine what this precious lady has seen in her lifetime? Her siblings who predeceased her are: Mary, Martha, Edie, Harold, and W. V. Her brother Dale Harris of Waco survives. Also surviving are nieces, Bertie Hopper, Margaret Bedell, and Peggy, one nephew Jimmy. "Aunt Lillian", which she loved for us to call her, is also survived by her special families: Jackie and Gary Christian, Stacey, Stephen, Mandy and Haley, and Garrison and Hayden; Tamara and Jon Mark Jester, Leah and Leslie;Lou McPherson, her longtime friend that she loved to run cattle and travel with. Lillian was married for 27 years to Bill Bilton who passed away in 1967. She worked for Valero Oil and Gas before coming back to Hamilton County. Lillian was an amazing woman. She was never ill or on any medication until age 97. Even then we were never sure she was actually taking it! She walked MILES around her neighborhood for years cheering up all she came in contact with. She lived independently and drove her little white Taurus until the summer of 2010. In the summer of 2010 she became a resident of Dove Hill Assisted Living. She was really happy out there. She would walk the entire facility several times a day around and around visiting with everyone. Tamra, Jackie, Garrison and Hayden would walk with her and that gave her a big "kick"! She could "get a kick out of" the smallest things!" She could make us tired but was always ready for a walk. Lillian was an avid Rangers and Cowboys fan, always watching them on TV, as well as enjoying golf! She led a very quiet, private, life but had many friends. She loved to play SkipBo, 84, and Chicken Foot with Lou, Margie, Ruby, Joyce, and Merle and Doris. She loved to go wherever Lou would take her and they went many fun places. She was sharp as a tack until summer 2012, her last illness. Her wonderful sense of humor and sweet smile never left her. In her last days she would tell Jackie and Tamra to "smile and not be sad". She was our joy. Lillian loved her church, First Baptist, and had many great times there. She was always in her pew, on the "piano side", with a bright shiny face up until the fall of last year. Lillian had no birth children but was mother, grandmother, and aunt to many. She touched many lives with her gentle ways. She could be found in the middle of the floor playing cars with the boys into her nineties. We all loved her with all our hearts and she loved us back. She would say "I've loved you for a long long time and I will keep on doing it." A life well lived for her Lord and with all of us. We will miss her sweetness and spunkiness. We love you Lillian. Listen.....can you hear her say "I've loved you for a long long time and I am gonna keep on doing it"..... What a precious soul. Now she has her peace.
