Bio
Agatha Marie (Spieker) Richart was born on January 1, 1916 to Fred W. and Louise M. (Friedman) Spieker in Carroll, IA. Agatha passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Neligh, Nebraska. Agatha Marie attended school until the 8th grade at St. John's the Baptist School in Petersburg, NE. She worked numerous jobs in Omaha and on the reservation in South Dakota. On April 17, 1944 she was united in marriage to Henry Richart in Petersburg. They farmed Northwest of Petersburg until they retired in 1975 and moved to Neligh. She was a member of the Christian Mothers at St. Bonaventure in Raeville, a member of the Rosary Sodality at St. Francis in Neligh and volunteered at the nursing home in Neligh. Agatha enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, canning and baking. She also enjoyed playing dominoes and cards with her family. Agatha Marie is survived by: children Mary (Larry) Reuss of Neligh, Fred (Maryjo) Richart of Loveland, CO, Walt (Vicki) Richart of Neligh and Ed (Elinor) Richart of Oakdale; daughter-in-law Sheila O'Connell of Omaha, NE; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; sisters Rosamond Klein of Petersburg, Florence Luettel of Albion, NE, and Malinda Buelt of Elgin, NE; brothers Robert (Laura Mae) Spieker of Neligh, LeRoy (Elaine) Spieker of Fremont, NE, Fred Spieker of Albion; sister-in-laws Mary Ann Spieker of Kenneth, MN and Bernadine Spieker of Petersburg, and Elizabeth DeCamp of Neligh. Agatha Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; brothers Cletus, Lawrence, and Linus and his wife Laura; sister, Mae and her husband Louis Moser; and brother-in laws Alphons Klein, Lawrence Luettel, and Ray Buelt. Burial was in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Neligh, NE.
