Anton L. Rerucha, 80, of David City, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Butler County Health Care Center in David City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, David City, with the Rev. Adrian Herbek officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Rerucha was born June 13, 1924, on a farm near Bruno to Thomas and Sophie (Rech) Rerucha. He graduated from Brainard High School in 1942. He was married to Lucille Rezac on Oct. 12, 1957, in David City. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Butler County for 41 years. He was a member of the church, a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and played in the Brainard Rerucha Brass bands. He played baseball for Bruno and Brainard town teams and also in a softball league. He raised sheep, had a large vegetable garden, and enjoyed restoring antique farm machinery and collecting antiques. Survivors include his wife of David City; one son: Jim (Anna) Rerucha of Bruno; one daughter, Sr. Jeanette Rerucha of Wahoo; four brothers, Albin Rerucha and Edward Rerucha, both of Bruno, Ben (Nadine) Rerucha of Lincoln and Joe (Mary Lou) Rerucha of Ralston; one sister-in-law: Mary Lou (Richard) Rerucha of Omaha; and one granddaughter. Preceding him in death was one brother, Richard Rerucha.
