Bio
Arlene J. Murphy, 81, of Rapid City died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born March 21, 1931 in Rapid City to Joseph and Kathryn (Allison) Shavlik. Arlene graduated from Rapid City High School in 1950. She married David L. Murphy on October 14, 1950. They moved to a farm in Rapid Valley where she resided until her death. Survivors include her three sons; Dennis Murphy and his wife, Patricia, Bismarck, Steven Murphy, Rapid City and Jeffrey Murphy, Rapid City, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and her brother, Gerald Shavlik, Northern California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Wesley and a grand daughter, Summer. She will be cremated and a private family memorial service will take place at a future date. Friends may honor her memory with a contribution to the American Diabetes Association.
