Ben C. Godwin Passes Away in Wysong Hospital Ben C. Godwin, 78 of Princeton, life-long resident of Collin County, died at 7:30 o'clock Friday night in Wysong Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Sunday in the Princeton Methodist Church, Rev. Alfred Butler and Rev. Lloyd Elder officiating, with burial in the Princeton Cemetery. Turrentine-Jackson Funeral Directors have charge of arrangements. He was born April 15, 1886 and was married September 30, 1906 to Miss Otsa Holder. She preceded him in death March 30, 1962. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leonard Jenkins of Houston and Mrs. Joe Jenkins of McKinney; two sons, Weldon Godwin of Princeton; Newt Godwin of Houston; sister, Mrs. Bertha Evans of Princeton; three brothers, J. G. Godwin, Princeton; F. B. Godwin, Antlers, Okla.; R. V. Godwin, Hugo, Okla.; 10 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. The Courier-Gazette , McKinney, Texas, 3 Oct 1964, Sat, Page 6
